(NEW!) Wednesday, 8/7 Open House at Fat Cat Fab Lab. One of the cornerstones of the New York City maker community is hosting their next open house at their West Village space. If you’re interested in connecting with the hardware/maker community, or have a project that might benefit from their (surprisingly extensive) prototyping and fabrication capabilities, you should definitely stop by.
Friday, 8/9 Harlem Biospace @ Mink Open House. Join the Harlem Biospace team for an Open House at their new, state-of-the-art life sciences incubator at the Mink Building in West Harlem’s Innovation Triangle. There’ll be tours of the new space, refereshments, and lots of opportunities for networking!
(NEW!) Thursday, 8/15 NY Hardware Happy Hour. As the New York hardware community continues to charge up for Meetup #100, head over to Makelab’s downtown Brooklyn HQ and wrap up the summer with a casual hardware happy hour! This will be a happy hour style mixer for everyone to meet others using, building, and probably occasionally fighting with hardware in the NYC area.

Join the NY Robotics Meetup group for an exciting event at Newlab on August 22, where they'll delve into the fascinating world of robots designed for sports & competition. Robot competitions have showcased incredible innovations across multiple formats, and for all ages! Whether you're a seasoned robotics competitor or just curious about the field, this event offers a unique opportunity to learn, be inspired, and engage with experts in the field.
(NEW!) Thursday, 8/22 Shutting Down Your Startup Correctly. Sometimes, your startup doesn’t go the way you want it to. This workshop will cover the basics of winding down your startup, such as understanding your options, managing your obligations, communicating and negotiating with stakeholders. While no one ever wants to go through this, it’s good to be prepared so you can work from a place of rational planning rather than panic. This session will be led by Jaclyn Siu, founder and CEO of Starcycle (and NYU alumna). Having founded 3 companies, and having had to wind down 2 of them, she draws from her experience as a serial entrepreneur and investor to build tools to help founders shut down their companies, so they can let go faster and move forward to new adventures.

Join BIOTECH XYZ and FirstXFounder (FxF) for a panel discussion featuring alumni from FxF’s regional entrepreneurship programs.
