(NEW!) Thursday, 7/6 (+ 7/18) WCBA 2024 Info Session. Not sure what to expect from a biotech accelerator? Want to find out if you and your venture are in the right place for the WCBA program? Join FirstXFounder for an info session to learn more about the Westchester County Biosciences Accelerator (WCBA), including how and when to submit an application, program structures, and what you stand to gain from becoming a 2024 venture.
(NEW!) Sunday, 7/9 SciArt Synapse Mixer. After a long stretch on Zoom SciArt’s monthly mixer is back in person at community bio lab Biotech Without Borders for a fun, engaging social mixer between scientists, artists, and other members of the city’s diverse bio community. There’ll be creative activities, light refreshments, and laid-back socializing so you can meet the community and learn more about what Biotech Without Borders offers to members.
Tuesday, 7/11 Biotech Without Borders: Show & Tell at Fat Cat Fab Lab. The biotech and maker communities will both be coming together for this crossover event featuring two of the city’s most exciting and active makerspaces: Biotech Without Borders and the Fat Cat Fab Lab. Members from both spaces will show off their projects and talk about the ways the fabrication, prototyping, and biology equipment at both spaces can be used for all kind of personal and entrepreneurial projects.
Thursday, 7/13 New York I-Corps Annual Network Meeting & Innovation Showcase. The New York I-Corps Hub is excited to welcome the ecosystem in-person for their 11th Annual Network Meeting on Thursday, July 13th at the CUNY John Jay College! This year’s program promises to be another exciting event designed to foster information sharing, expand commercialization programming, and cultivate networking with economic development leaders, entrepreneurs, academic innovators, and startup advisors.
(NEW!) Thursday, 7/20 IndieBio NY Coffee Break. Join human and planetary health investor SOSV's IndieBio NY for some morning coffee and pastries, learn more about the IndieBio NY program, and meet fellow members of the NY biotech community!
Thursday, 7/20 NeuroNYC Monthly Happy Hour. The second of a recurring free happy hour series meant to foster engagement between NYC's neurotech community. This happy hour will be hosted and sponsored by OpenBCI. NeuroNYC, the group behind the happy hours, is a collaboration of neurotech enthusiasts from many of the exciting neurotech companies now headquartered in NYC including OpenBCI, Synchron, Sharper Sense, NeuraLenz, and Invictus BCI. We are all excited by the growth of neurotech in NYC but felt there was a lack of events promoting communication between the different neurotech companies, labs, and investors.
