(NEW!) Tuesday, 6/4 Weill Cornell Biomedical Business Plan Challenge Pitch Event. Join the Weill Cornell Medicine community for a night of cocktails and networking to celebrate the successful completion of the Biomedical Business Plan Challenge program. In this highly selective program, faculty-led newcos complete 10 weeks of seminars led by subject matter experts. The topics include market concepts, intellectual property, R&D planning, licensing/partnering, budgeting/fundraising, and others. The evening will kick-off the evening with pitches from each competing team, and a panel of VC judges will select the winners of the cash prizes. Following the pitch event, an awards announcement and networking reception will take place on-site at Griffis Faculty Club

Join SOSV, Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), and the Government of Ontario’s Trade & Investment Office for a panel discussion on what it takes to build a successful global business. Following the panel, there will be subsequent breakouts offered for each region to share how they support US companies with building complementary operations to achieve growth. The event will conclude with general networking & drinks/light snacks.
Saturday, 6/15 Longevity NYC Summer Picnic. Kickoff summer 2024 by getting together with the Longevity NYC group in Central Park! Participating picnickers will be meeting up be at the south side of Sheep Meadow, by the trees. Look for the red balloon when you arrive 🎈 Please bring an extra blanket, snacks, or drinks if you have them.
Tuesday, 6/18 (+ 3rd Tuesday of the month) Mid-Atlantic Bio Angels 1st Pitch Office Hours. Continuing the tradition that began with their 1st Pitch Life Science™ series of live events, MABA Office Hours are meant to provide constructive feedback to companies that may be too early for funding, and those who wish to pitch for feedback. This monthly office hours session gives companies 10 minutes to pitch a panel of MABA investors, followed by 10 minutes of feedback from the panel. You need not be part of a startup to attend, either — these pitch events are open to all to attend.
(NEW!) Tuesday, 6/18 CRISPR: Rewriting the Code of Biotechnology. Join TriBC for an exciting panel discussion on CRISPR, the groundbreaking technology that is transforming the field of genetic engineering. The panel will feature leaders in the field from Regeneron, who will describe the multifaceted applications of CRISPR technology and give their perspective on the future of CRISPR in biotech.

A science comedy show (and science trivia showdown) by and for people who are curious about everything–but especially the things that make them laugh, this month’s edition of Facts Machine covers all things marine biology. The Facts Machine team of science communicators and researchers will be hosting the show at Caveat on the Lower East Side featuring guest scientists, comedians, storytellers, and more as they share the fascinating stories behind their favorite facts, conduct “scientific experiments”, and conclude with a pub-style trivia quiz “loosely inspired” by the theme of marine biology!
