(NEW!) Thursdays, 4/6-5/25 Starta Accelerator Spring Pitch Contests. Join the Starta Accelerator program for their Spring 2023 pitch contests in NYC, as founders hone their startups' pitch in front of a panel of judges, consisting of VCs, angels and industry experts. After the presentations, there will be time for Q&A with the pitching startups followed by networking with other frontrunners, entrepreneurs and investors of the NYC startup scene.
Tuesday, 4/11 Deep Tech Happy Hour. Join SOSV’s IndieBio and HAX for the April edition of their monthly Deep Tech Happy Hours, bringing together founders, funders, and more from the worlds of biotech, climate tech, hardware, and beyond. Weather permitting, April’s happy hour will be back out and about in NYC, so stay tuned for updates.
(NEW!) Thursday, 4/13 NYC Venture Community Monthly Networking Happy Hour. Calling all individuals interested in the venture space – entrepreneurs, founders, investors, venture capitalists – Join Columbia Venture Community for in-person networking happy hours on the 2nd Thursday of each month in 2023! Come out and join the community for drinks and socializing with the goal of meeting and supporting the many entrepreneurs and investors in the local ecosystem. (NEW!) Thursday, 4/13 3D Printing and Bioprinting Bone. In this upcoming virtual event, 3DHEALS invites all stakeholders with different backgrounds to learn and participate in a discussion on how we can use 3D printing to regenerate bone tissues. Wednesday, 4/19 Preparing for Entrepreneurship: Advisors. The latest edition of FirstXFounder’s Preparing for Entrepreneurship series covers one of the most important groups of people that don’t work at your company: advisors. The discussion will cover the kinds of advisors your startup needs and how you find them.
(NEW!) Wednesday & Thursday, 4/19-20 2nd Annual Sensor CAT Symposium. The 2nd annual symposium will showcase CUNY-wide academic-industry research and workforce development partnerships that further innovation and entrepreneurship in NY State. Specifically, the event will feature CUNY entrepreneurs and start-up founders in conversation with industry leaders to discuss the present and future of hard technology development and applications to advance human and planetary health.
(NEW!) Thursday, 4/20 All Funds are Not Created Equal. JLABS @ NYC hosts this powerhouse panel to discuss financing options for a start-up in today’s environment including non-dilutive funding, new financing models for venture-backed businesses, and what warning signs make investors turn and run. This candid conversation will bring together experienced investors in the life science field for an interactive dialogue discussing where new opportunities for investment lie, and how to best position your company to attract such funding. Plus, a networking reception with the panelists and other attendees will follow.
Thursday-Sunday, 4/20-23 MIT Hacking Medicine Grand Hack. Join MIT Hacking Medicine at their annual flagship event in Boston, hosted at The Engine! This is the weekend to brainstorm and build innovative solutions with hundreds of engineers, clinicians, designers, developers and business people.
