(NEW!) Wednesday, 3/8 Careers in IP & Patent Law. As scientific research advances, patent law is a growing career opportunity for scientists. A graduate doctoral degree is critical to understanding the scientific merit needed to pursue a patent or protect intellectual property. In the next NYAS Career Path webinar, attendees will learn how researchers and scientists have transitioned into the intellectual property and patent law career space.
(NEW!) Thursday, 3/9 IndieBio NY Coffee Break & Mixer. Stop by IndieBio’s new office and lab space this Thursday on your way into work and grab some free coffee and pastries. Attendees will get to learn more about the IndieBio NY program, check out their new biotech incubator space, and meet fellow members of the NY biotech community!
(NEW!) Thursday, 3/14 Secret Science Club: Your Brain and the Law. The Secret Science Club once again hosts the Dana Foundation Neuroscience & Society Lecture as part of New York’s Brain Week festivities, featuring brain experts Francis Shen and Adriana Galván. They’ll be discussing discuss groundbreaking discoveries about the adolescent brain—and how these scientific insights are affecting our legal system, public policy, and society.
Thursday, 3/16 NYIT Annual Biotechnology Conference. Back for it’s third year, NYIT’s Biotechnology Conference returns to their New York City campus with a focus on regenerative medicine. The conference will feature talks from local startups, researchers, and leaders from industry, plus a networking reception to follow.
(NEW!) Friday, 3/17 March Madness at InnoLabs. Mix basketball and biotech at one of New York’s newest biotech hubs in Long Island City. Games will be on display across an array of TVs on the ground floor of the building and some food and drinks will be provided!
Sunday, 3/19 SciArt Synapse Virtual Mixer. Join the SciArt group for the March edition of their casual afternoon of cross-disciplinary networking and conversation—virtually! Bring a drink, set yourself up with your favorite Zoom background and enjoy an afternoon of meeting artists, scientists, technologists, and cross-disciplinary practitioners. The event will include a few organized rounds of blind networking in breakout rooms and then some longer sessions on chosen topics.
Thursday-Sunday, 4/20-23 MIT Hacking Medicine Grand Hack. Join MIT Hacking Medicine at their annual flagship event in Boston, hosted at The Engine! This is the weekend to brainstorm and build innovative solutions with hundreds of engineers, clinicians, designers, developers and business people. Within the multi-theme event, there is sure to be a healthcare challenge for everyone!
