Thursday, 3/27 Empowering Women: Starting a Career in Life Sciences. The LifeSci NYC Internship Program will present a virtual career panel, Empowering Women: Starting a Career in Life Sciences. This panel will feature women in different stages of their careers working in the life sciences in New York City. They will share their experiences and varying paths to building a career in the life sciences. The panel will conclude with an opportunity for Q&A.
Tuesday, 4/1 DeSciNYC: How to create SUPERBABIES. DeSciNYC’s next talk will feature Jonathan Anomaly — a professor at Duke and Penn for over a decade and now working with a stealth startup offering polygenic embryo screening — as he explores how we can use polygenic scores to select embryos in order to reduce disease risks and influence mental and physical traits. It will also address some of the moral and policy questions this technology raises, as well as how it might evolve and change the trajectory of human civilization.
