The NYC climate and sustainability scene is gathering back a Prime Produce in Hell’s Kitchen for an evening of conversation, drinks, snacks, and even the occasional board game. Sip sustainably and share good vibes amongst the beloved climate geek community.
(NEW!) Tuesday, 2/25 Charting a Path for Compliance in Life Sciences. Join PTP and AWS for an interactive and educational event tailored for biotech leaders seeking to ensure security compliance while leveraging the power of AWS. This session will dive into the critical elements of designing secure, scalable, and compliant systems for biotech operations, from research and development to clinical trials and beyond.
(NEW!) Wednesday, 2/26 ECHO Biotech Happy Hour. The February edition of ECHO’s monthly happy hour hang will bring together the usual lineup of life sciences-oriented entrepreneurs, clinicians, healthcare operators, and beyond, BUT it will also add an extra twist, with some live music to follow the usual networking. Whether you’re an ECHO veteran or a first-timer, this will be a great - and unique - gathering to attend.
(NEW!) Wednesday, 2/26 Taste of Science: Inflation. Covering both the economic and astrophysical kinds of inflation, join Tase of Science NY for a talk from an economist to learn more about this earthly phenomenon, as well as a talk from an astrophysicist to learn about another kind of inflation that reaches well beyond earth: the early expansion of the universe in the second after the Big Bang.
Wednesday, 2/26 NY Hardware Meetup. The 103rd iteration of New York’s long-running hard tech meetup heads over to City Tech in Downtown Brooklyn for a deep-dive into the medtech ecosystem. Featuring a lineup of speakers covering everything from BCI to 3D printing, this can’t-miss meetup will span the bridge between two of NYC’s most exciting emerging fields.
Wednesday, 2/26 From Bench to Bedside: Integrating Health Equity. In partnership with Vynamic and Putnam, OUTbio Greater New York is excited to host their first ever panel focused on health equity in Life Science Innovation: “From Bench to Bedside: Integrating Health Equity at Every Stage of Life Science Innovation”. The panel will start at 6pm EST, with a happy hour directly following at 7pm EST.

Tuesday, 3/4 Sh!t Pitch Live. Kind of a pitch version of “two truths and a lie”, join a collection of founders, funders, and innovators for this nationally recognized pitch event — as seen on CNBC — where founders showcase their adaptability, communication skills, and more to top-tier investors. Three up-and-coming founders pitch their real Pre-Seed or Seed round ideas—plus one hilariously FAKE business concept to keep everyone on their toes. (NEW!) Tuesday, 3/4 DeSciNYC: The Billion Oyster Project. Billion Oyster Project is a New York City-based nonprofit organization on a mission to restore 1 billion oysters to NYC's Harbor by 2035 through restoration and education initiatives. Oysters provide a number of beneficial effects for the ecosystem including filtering water via filter feeding, increasing habitat for other animals, and protecting shorelines from storm surges. Learn about the health of the harbor from Billion Oyster Project staff, and how you can get involved with oyster monitoring and water quality testing.

Thursday, 3/6 Breaking Ground: Women Who Lead. Join JLABS for Breaking Ground: Women Who Lead, a dynamic panel discussion honoring International Women’s Day. This inspiring event shines a spotlight on the remarkable contributions of female scientists, researchers, and entrepreneurs who are transforming the life sciences landscape. Beyond their professional achievements, our distinguished panelists will share personal stories of resilience, determination, and innovation. They’ll delve into the challenges they’ve faced as women in the industry, the barriers they’ve overcome, and the pivotal moments that shaped their journeys.
Friday-Sunday, 3/7-3/9 Cornell Tech Health Hackathon. One of the longest running health tech events in NYC is back for the tenth iteration of this annual hackathon. Over 100 students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds and a variety of universities will descend upon NYC for a weekend of rapid proto-typing with guidance from industry experts. On Sunday teams demo their proof-of-concepts for awards and accolades. Applications to participate are still open and participants from any institution are welcome to join!
Friday-Sunday, 3/14-3/16 MIT Hacking Medicine Grand Hack. The start of spring means hackathon season and with it, the hackathon that started them all. Bringing together participants from around the country and world, this weekend-long hackathon will focus on three topic areas of health — Assistive Technology, Heart Health, and Transformative Intelligence — to inspire a marathon of prototyping, pitching, and problem-solving. Participants from all institutions are welcome to apply to this premier hackathon, which has on multiple occasions served as the jumping-off point for new healthcare technology ventures.
(NEW!) Thursday, 3/20 NY Hardware Meetup. The 104th edition of New York’s long-running hard tech gathering returns to design firm Frog for a lineup of presentations focused on climate tech and the all-important (but frequently overlooked) supply chain. You might not realize it, but NYC is a hotbed for this kind of innovation and this meetup will be featuring several companies working at the cutting edge of this technology.
